This recipe is extra sweet because it requires fresh strawberries, but you can use frozen strawberries if you have them. If you buy the standard strawberry ice cream, it turns pink when you add fresh berries. This recipe makes a portion of 4, garnished with whipped cream and served with fresh strawberries as a garnish.
Add frozen strawberries, bananas, dairy-free milk and vanilla sweetener to the blender or cup and mix until creamy and smooth. After washing, dab dry strawberries with the hull of a fresh strawberry and sprinkle with sugar to cover their surface.
Pour your milkshake into a glass and serve with a cute patterned straw if you feel retro. Freeze the jar and put it in the freezer for an hour before making your shake, then pull it out and serve immediately.
You might think that as a vegan you cannot enjoy a strawberry milkshake stuffed with dairy products. I have used whole milk in this recipe, but I can happily experiment with any type of milk you like. This recipe can also be made into a Kefir milkshake if you use 1 cup of Kefir Milk instead of milk or yogurt.
Depending on the size and cut of your strawberry, you may need to add a little more milk. If your strawberries are sweet enough, you don't need the added sweetener.
